Our e-bike tour today takes us around Luxembourg and right through the city. The cycle network is excellent and the area around Luxembourg is very varied and green - wonderful. The cycle paths through the city are also very good, you always feel safe and they show a lot of consideration for cyclists. On the official cycle path you even have to use a lift and this works excellently together with the pedestrians.
Luxembourg is a city with around 100 different nationalities, and around 70% of them do not have a Luxembourg passport. You hear a lot of different languages and the people are very friendly. We really liked the city.
The weather is already summery and so we enjoy the rest of the afternoon in front of our Pfüdi sunbathing, reading or simply doing nothing.
At the end of the day there is a raclette outdoors!
Daily distance: 27.5 kilometers with the e-bikes around Luxembourg and through the middle of the city
Pitch costs: 19.50 Euro including water/electricity, electricity extra (we don't need it)

So first we have to fill up everything we can. Our Pfüdi urgently needs diesel. 1.82 euros is really cheap (haha). Then our fridge is completely empty. We do that "on the other side" of the border in an Edeka in Germany. Back in Luxembourg we fill up our half-empty gas bottle with cheap gas at 0.89 euros per liter.
The little Luxembourg Switzerland - a dreamlike area. A labyrinth of paths, stairs, caves, rocks, trees, plants etc. etc. The hike was an experience! We'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
Daily route: Luxembourg - Berdorf
Distance: 66 km
Average consumption: 9.6 liters
Average speed 39 km/h
Travel time: 1 hour 40 minutes
Pitch costs: 12 euros including water/electricity, electricity extra (we don't need it)

The Schiessentümpel - one of the most popular photo motifs in Luxembourg. Of course we have to go there too. Preferably early in the morning. Otherwise it can be difficult to take a photo without people on the bridge.
The time of day doesn't matter, it's always shady. Luckily, there are very few tourists here today and we don't get in each other's way.
Then we drive on to Vianden. Vianden Castle is said to be one of the most beautiful castles and is one of the most important monuments in Europe today and is of course a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will of course pass by it on our hike, but today we will content ourselves with the view from outside and the wonderful views that are offered to us all around.
Daily route: Berdorf - Vianden
Distance: 37 km
Average consumption: 8.8 liters
Average speed 34 km/h
Travel time: 1 hour 3 minutes
Pitch costs: 20 euros including water/electricity, incl.

Today we are leaving Luxembourg and driving through another new country - Belgium. There is certainly so much to discover here, but we'll save that for next time. The High Fens Nature Park, which we are driving through, looks promising.
We also discover a small part of the Parc Naturel Hautes Fagnes - Eifel. Here we stop for a short walk. The road through the park almost reminds us of Sweden, it could also be the E45.
Then we reach the three-country point on the Vaalserberg. Just right for a small lunch. The flow of tourists is limited. As a fitness program after dinner, we climb the observation tower via the stairs rather than the elevator.
And our journey continues to the parking space in Maastrich. And so we are already in the third new country - the Netherlands. There is room for 100 motorhomes here. The spaces are also quite tight. Each one has a small green strip. But not everyone is as lucky as us - we get the only wonderfully beautiful corner spot with a great view of the Maas.
A walk through the surrounding area rounds off the day. Then all that's left to do is enjoy.
Day route: Vianden - Maastrich
Distance: 164 km
Average consumption: 8.9 liters
Average speed 42 km/h
Travel time: 3 hours 49 minutes

Obelink - we've heard a lot about this shop, or read about it on Instagram. And since we're already in Holland, we have to pay this shop a visit. It's a "small" detour, but we probably won't get any closer to the shop than today. Well, it's really well-known! In addition to many cars, there are also many, many motorhomes! Our conclusion - we are among the very few people who leave the shop empty-handed but with a full wallet. The shop is huge, too huge for us country folk.
So we set off west. We want to reach the coast around Sunday. From experience, the pitches usually empty out a bit then.
We find out that they are filling up earlier today, Friday, at our first spot in Tolkamer at the harbor. It is already full at 3.30 p.m.
The second place, about 2.5 km further along the Rhine, is small. The meadow next to a restaurant serves as a parking space and the operators make sure that there is no random parking. This way, the view of the Rhine is guaranteed. We like it, we stay. We explore the area on a long walk and then watch the busy boat traffic. As the restaurant closes at 6 p.m. due to a lack of staff, we use the motorhome kitchen today. The chicken strips with zucchini and macaroni taste excellent. With this view, it tastes twice as good anyway.
Tagesstrecke: Maastrich - Tolkamer
Distance: 218 km
Average consumption: 9 liters
Average speed 48km/h
Travel time: 4 hours 30 minutes
Pitch cost: 16.30 Euro including water/electricity, without electricity

After breakfast we head to Tolkamer to do some shopping. Like many people here, we do this on our bikes.
And then today we do what thousands of Dutch people do - ride a bike! But here everyone has particularly hard skulls, and bike helmets are actually only used by racing cyclists, the "gum-draggers", everyone else doesn't think they're necessary. Today we take the ferry from one side of the Rhine to the other and end up in Nijmegen. It feels like there are more bikes driving around than cars - crazy! A flower market, a clothing market and a food market - the city is full of people, the restaurants and bars are overflowing.
We also find a restaurant on the Rhine for our lunch. On the way back we can see a herd of wild horses.
Back at our lovely spot, we watch the immense boat traffic on the Rhine. It's crazy how much is sailing up and down.
Daily distance: 42 km with the e-bikes to Nijmegen and back
Pitch cost: 16.30 Euro including water/electricity, without electricity

The windmills of Kinderdijk - Unesco World Heritage Site
From our parking space in Alblasserdam it is only a stone's throw to these mills with the e-bikes.
There are a total of 37 mills in the Alblasserwaard area. We haven't seen all of them, as we don't feel like going on a long tour today. We cycled leisurely through the area. The visitor center is clearly the busiest, but you quickly leave the stream of visitors behind.
There are houses along one of the water canals, each one more beautiful than the next. And each one has a beautiful garden by the water with wonderful places to sit and everything is lovingly decorated down to the last detail. You just want to linger here and sit down somewhere!

It's Sunday - the parking lot has plenty of free spaces again!
And we probably won't reach the North Sea until tomorrow.
Tagesstrecke: Tolkamer - Alblasserdam
Distance: 150 km
Average consumption: 8.4 liters
Average speed 66 km/h
Travel time: 2 hours 14 minutes
